Wildflowers

Yes! I see my first bear up close since I was little - but not to worry - this one was from a car. On our way to the Tower-Roosevelt area of the park, my hiking companions and I see this bear right next to the road...

We decide to hike the "Lost Lake" trail. The hike is about 4 miles long, and was one of the most relaxing days of my life. Lost Lake was easily found...

Lost Falls...

So green and lush...

We come across a buffalo along the trail (I think I say this every time I blog about a hike!)...

My favorite part of this trail was the abundance of wildflowers. I've never seen so many in one place in my entire life...

Laura, Cathleen and Elizabeth: wildflowers relaxing among the wildflowers...

The girls requested a song, and so I sang "Edelweiss" to add to the scene...

Continuing onward...

More flowers!...

So many that we had no choice but to lay among them and live in the moment...

(Thanks to Elizabeth for catching this shot and a few of the others in this post!)

Keep on keepin' on...

  1. It is so beautiful there! Now when you say that this time you saw the bear from a car, does that mean the last time you were potential food?! =)
